The best running shoes for knee pain

The best running shoes for knee pain

Are you looking for the best running shoes for knee pain? Are more cushioned shoes the solution? Not really.

You will need shoes with neither too much nor too little cushioning, just the right amount.

Many ask us for shoes with more cushioning because they suffer from knee pain, ankle pain, it band pain, etc.

Although it’s commonly thought that more cushioning running shoes will fix the issue, that’s not true.

Think of it like this:

If your running shoes are created for heavier runners (i.e., 100k/220lbs) and you weigh 65k/143lbs, it would be like your mini cooper getting shock absorbers designed for monster trucks. Will they feel hard or soft?

You’ll find running shoes that give enough protection to a wide range of runners:

They are recommended for male runners between 145lb to 185lb (65kg to 85kg) and female runners between 110lb to 155lb (50kg to 70 kg).

If you weigh more, I recommend the best-selling Asics Nimbus.

Women’s: 232 grams for a size 9/39.5.

Cushioning, stability, and comfort.

Cons
They’re a bit heavier than the Cumulus 22.

If you have to look for a weakness… its grip on wet asphalt could be improved (but there aren’t that many shoes that don’t slip on wet surfaces).

4. Asics Gt-2000 10 (overpronation)

Recommended for runners with slight or moderate pronation between 145lb to 185lb (65kg to 85 kg).

Many runners with these characteristics opt for the Gel Kayano when with the Gt 2000 they would have enough protection.

Women’s: 8.4oz/238 grams for a size 8/38.5.

Improved performance on wet asphalt.
